Legend has it that there is an old very small village near the city of Oporto, more precisely on the opposite margin of the river Douro, where a handful of brave men dedicate themselves to traditional fishing.
Thanks to a magic potion, these men endure the hard work and sometimes, whenever the sea does not allow to go out, they fish at the mouth of the river.
The magic potion is called Port Wine and the village is called Afurada.
In memory of these people, OPORTO YELLOW BOATS created the “FISHING” program, with three tour packages, GOLD and SILVER.
The tours start at Ribeira (historical center), where you will be welcomed aboard with some traditional sandwiches, sausages, cheese and drinks. We will then sail down the river Douro and you will be able to experience the art of fishing. Our Fishing boat will be crewed by an experienced skipper and a local fisherman, who will show you some of his tricks and tips to catch the biggest fish. Then we will get to visit the famous Afurada village and its people and, of course, taste the magic potion.
